I know this may sound odd but I have actually never tried the lemon bread at Starbucks!  But everyone says that this is exactly the same.  So rather than paying for a slice make a whole loaf of it yourself.  When I make this it always goes so fast, it is great because it is not to sweet, and in my family we love desserts with lemon.  So you will be seeing a lot of different lemon recipes.  This bread is really easy to make, which is why it is so much better to make yourself, rather than thinking that it is too difficult to make and then just going to the store and buying it.

Ingredients you will need…

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • zest from 2 lemons
  • juice from 2 lemons
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

1.)  Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and spray a bread loaf pan with nonstick spray, set aside.

2.)  In a bowl combine the eggs, sugar and sour cream, and mix until combined.

3.)  Add the oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, and  mix again until fully combined.

4.)  Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, then add to your batter, and mix to get rid of as many lumps as you can.

5.)  Pour batter into prepared bread pan, and place into preheated oven for 45-50 minutes.

6.)  Remove from oven and check with a toothpick for doneness.  Set aside to cool.

Lemon Icing

1.)  Combine the powdered sugar and lemon juice with a fork.

2.)  Pour the icing over cooled lemon bread.

3.)  Slice and enjoy!
