These little things are so amazingly delicious and super easy to make.  When I hear pot stickers I think I will be in the kitchen for a long time, but these are the opposite and you don’t need a bunch of ingredients that you have never heard of.  Another great thing with these, is that you can freeze any that you don’t cook and have them ready for a quick meal.  I have always loved pot stickers, but I would buy them already prepared because I thought they would be to hard to make, you can really add any veggies you like, it will all taste great, and the store bought wonton wrappers work great, no need to make your own dough.  Also I just made a quick dipping sauce with these pot stickers but you can use hot sauce, hoisin sauce, or nothing and it will still taste great.  If you are having trouble making the shape of the pot stickers you can watch a quick video on youtube how they make the shape. Good luck, and hope you enjoy!

Ingredients…

  • 14 oz. package wonton wrappers
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 8 oz. package of white mushrooms
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 1/2 medium cabbage shredded (about 2 cups)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1.)  Start by preparing all your vegetables, dice your onion, green onion, garlic cloves, mushrooms, and shred the cabbage.  Set aside

2.)  Heat oil in a large heavy bottomed pot over medium heat, add in the diced onion and sauté for about 2 minutes.  Then add in the garlic, and sauté for another 2 minutes.

3.)  Next add your mushrooms to the pot and sauté for 5 minutes till lightly browned.  Last add in your carrots, cabbage and green onion, and sauté for another 7 minutes until the cabbage is soften, but still has a little crunch.

4.)  Take pot off heat and add in sesame oil to your vegetables and mix.  Set aside to cool.

5.)  Once your vegetables are cooled place a teaspoon onto each wonton wrapper, dip your finger into water and wet one half of the wonton, and fold, make the creases on one side of your pot sticker, seal so there are no holes, and set aside.  Repeat for the rest of the pot stickers.

6.)  Once you have sealed all your pot stickers, heat a few tablespoons of oil in a saute pan on medium heat.  Place your pot stickers in hot oil and turn on each side till lightly browned all over.  Remove and place on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

7.)  Combine the soy sauce and rice vinegar in small bowl, dip your pot stickers into sauce and enjoy while hot and crispy.
